Terms of Engagement

By engaging with Narrative Edge, you are entering into a partnership designed for your professional growth. These terms ensure that both parties are aligned on expectations, responsibilities, and the ethical standards of our work.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this website or enrolling in any coaching program, workshop, or consultation offered by Narrative Edge, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must refrain from using our services. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and clients of Narrative Edge.

2. Professional Coaching Relationship

Narrative Edge provides professional coaching and training in storytelling and public speaking. While we use evidence-based methodologies and performance techniques, our services are not a substitute for professional mental health care or medical advice. The success of the coaching relationship depends on the client's commitment to the process and their willingness to implement the techniques provided. Narrative Edge makes no guarantees regarding specific career outcomes or financial gains, as these are dependent on factors outside of our control.

2.1 Client Responsibilities

Clients are expected to arrive on time for all scheduled sessions, whether in-person at our Austin studio or virtually. Preparation is essential; clients should complete any assigned exercises or narrative drafts prior to their sessions to maximize the effectiveness of the coaching time. We maintain a professional environment and expect all clients to interact with our staff and fellow workshop participants with respect and professional courtesy.

3. Registration and Payment

Enrollment in our workshops and coaching programs requires full payment or an agreed-upon deposit at the time of registration. We accept all major credit cards and bank transfers. For corporate training engagements, payment terms will be outlined in the specific Service Agreement. All prices are listed in USD and are subject to change without notice, though the rate agreed upon at the time of registration will be honored for the duration of that specific program.

3.1 Cancellation and Rescheduling

As outlined in our FAQ, we require 48 hours notice for the rescheduling of any individual coaching session. Failure to provide this notice will result in the forfeiture of the session fee. For group workshops, cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the start date will receive a full refund minus a $100 administrative fee. Cancellations made within 14 days of the start date are non-refundable, though they may be transferred to a future workshop date at our discretion.

4. Intellectual Property

The methodologies, curriculum materials, worksheets, and proprietary frameworks provided by Narrative Edge are the intellectual property of Narrative Edge and are protected by copyright laws. These materials are provided for the personal use of the client only and may not be reproduced, shared, or used for commercial purposes without our express written consent. Conversely, any original content or narratives developed by the client during the coaching process remain the intellectual property of the client.

Note: Video recordings made during sessions for feedback purposes are the joint property of Narrative Edge and the client. Narrative Edge will never use these recordings for marketing or public display without a separate, explicit release signed by the client.

5. Limitation of Liability

Narrative Edge and its coaches shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use our services. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of profits, business interruption, or loss of data. Our total liability to any client for any claim arising out of our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the client for those specific services.

6. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Travis County, Texas.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the website. Your continued use of our services following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically to ensure you are aware of the current terms governing our relationship.
